Survey Cad Technician

Position Overview:
The Survey Technician reviews and processes the results of field surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land features. This position works under the direction of a Professional Land Surveyor on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.
Typical Duties:
1. Produce CAD drawings on a large number of concurrent projects, to include title surveys, topographic surveys, base drawings for engineering design, coordinate control plans, and subdivision plats. Occasional engineering drawings may be produced under direction of a Professional Engineer.
2. Search legal and survey records and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries and areas to be surveyed.
3. Verify the accuracy of field survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
4. Prepare preliminary descriptions of property boundary surveys for use in deeds, leases or other legal documents.
5. Coordinate findings with the work of engineers, clients and others involved in projects.
Education/
Experience:
1. Minimum 5 years of related work experience.
2. Strong mathematical background, including algebra and trigonometry.
Skills and Special Requirements/ Licensing:
1. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
2. ArcGIS or equivalent software experience optionalEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
